I found it simpler for me to imagine myself in the building rather than 'read' the map of it. I simply entered it, in my mind, from the front door and visited every room individually trying to imagine the most important points, like where and how many windows are there, where are the alarms, in which direction the doors open.

This worked well for me in this test, but maybe in case of bigger buidings it would be too much time consuming to explore them in this way.

The proposed exercise to say out loud what you see seems to be interesting, I have to give it a try. I wonder what will I notice in the places I thought I knew well.

I can see how paying attention and believing in ability to remember something is important in memorizing things. I also see how SRS programs and some mnemonics helped me to believe in my ability to memorize and thanks to that I feel more motivited to try to remember things, also thanks to mnemonics I became more eager to use my visual imagination more often.

I remember that in high school I had huge problems with remembering historical facts, names, geographical names etc. Now I think it was mainly because I didn't pay attention to it. The things I remembered were mainly answers to questions like 'What happened?' 'How is one concept related to the other?' and not to questions 'What is the name of the concept?' 'When it happened?' 'Who?' 'Where?'.

Now I see how a powerful tool attention is.
